Overview

This project all stated from this one thought. 'Have you ever experienced a situation that you waste so much time on looking for parking spots, and wish you could have just sit down and someone else find a space for you?' We created not only app prototypes but also parking meter machine and screen design. We've also designed and calculated what technology this app needs to use to make it works.

Barro

“Baro” is “Immediately” in Korean.

Barro is a smart street parking app that provides real-time availability information of parking spaces around the city. By sending and receiving the parking data collected through parking meter machines and other street parking apps simultaneously, Barro detects which spots are occupied and which spots are available. As a result, Barro app users will see the real-time parking availabilities of every street parking space around the city, saving their time and fuel.

In addition, Barro offers a diversity of options not only parking spaces but also other transportations like public transit and bike. So, the users who want to choose not to drive today can still stay in Barro app for searching other transportation information.

Ideation

The first ideation and concept was MenuAR. By using AR technology, MenuAR shows each dish from the menu as an AR element in the real environment when the users scan the menu with their phones. Bringing the flat image (or just a name of a plate without any image) of a menu into a 3D visualization will higher the excitement and lower the potential confusion.

However, I needed a clearer and simpler concept, and I decided on a specific menu 'Pizza' through brainstorming and sketching.
