Overview

There are so many coffee shops around us. From large chain coffee shops to local coffee shops. What differentiated branding should we do to survive this coffee shop Red Ocean? This project was to create branding local coffee shops and design their apps. It aims to create differentiated branding and logos, and design app with a clean easy to use interface.

Café 185°F

The start of a local coffee shop should be different from a large chain coffee shop. The client's coffee shop is committed to providing its customers with professionalism of mainly handling hand drip and cold brew, friendly services, and diverse promotions for revisiting. The client's coffee shop also provides paper cups, paper bags, and paper straws made from eco-friendly materials. Moreover, all beverages in the store are served in mugs or paper cups, except for take-out of cold drinks.

What's the temperature at which coffee tastes the best? Many people feel coffee from 185 degrees Fahrenheit and 85 degrees Celsius is the best. Therefore, our brand also named it 185 degrees Fahrenheit, meaning provides the most delicious coffee to customers. The logo was motivated by a hand drip pot and I wanted to show a professional local coffee shop.

Design Process

Persona

Based on the insights from research, I was able to develop two personas.

Logo & Naming

Logos and naming are significant factors when branding. Just by looking at the logo and name, the brand's identity should be revealed. I tried to find a powerful and beautiful logo and name through brainstorming and sketching.
